Events Returning, Lower House Prices

Many people have requested for events like Solo the Champ, Team Carnage, and CTF to return.  These will be coming back soon.  They won't run on intervals before, they will be special events done that reward prizes to the winners.

Another thing people have been requesting is for me to lower the house prices because they were too high.  Today I lowered them back to what they were a few years ago.  It's $20 for a house and $10 for a screen, with a 3-pack available for $25.

Thanks for playing and stay tuned!

New Guild System, Free Class Change Perk, Email Recovery Added

A long awaited feature of being able to recover your password via e-mail has been added.  On your account, simply type /email and enter an email address.  If you then lose the account or have it stolen, you can request to have the password sent to your email address so you can get the account back.  Unfortunately, this will only help people going forward.  Make sure you add e-mail addresses on your accounts because if you don't and then you lose it you will be out of luck!

Also, the game has been updated with new guild features and guilds have been wiped.  Now, upkeep is 50k per member per day, and having a sprite costs 100k per day.  Guild hall prices and upkeep have been raised as well.  Why would we do this?  One of the biggest complaints is bank guilds and solo guilds holding up the best sprites and halls, so we have raised the amount it costs to a much more serious amount.  We will also be disbanding any bank guilds that people still try to make.  To make up for this, we have added a brand new feature of being able to change your class in your guild hall for free as often as you would like.  This is to encourage players to explore the other classes and perhaps good guilds will have players take turns being a cleric, support mage, or invisible trapper.  We want people to use these classes more so we can continue to improve the balance of the classes.

Velius fired

Velius was caught handing out items and has been fired.  This is a pretty unfortunate and disgraceful end for one of the game's longest players.  Looks like ya'll were right about him.  I'm not sure if we'll put someone better in his place or not, I'll be talking to everyone and seeing what they think.

As for the game updates, Golbez is staying around and I've been working on several new things for you guys in the code.

New store items, game updates

Today we released several new store items.  These include a new item called an Escape Scroll that is a one time use warp to Crendale in an emergency.  Another is the return of All Show No Go, which fires random harmless projectiles all around you.  We also lowered the equipment prices of the Guardian Pack, and added a new Elite Pack that includes Serin's Ring, a very rare item with a 1% drop chance from Serin.  Another highly anticipated item is the disco status (flashy).

We have also been updating the game.  Golbez has made many changes which he has posted a list of in the forums.  We are listening to your feedback and making adjustments as needed, so make sure to make your voice heard in the forums.

Multilogging is now allowed on the game again to make it easier to transfer between accounts.  E-mail recovery for accounts is also on the way to give people some protection if they lose their password or get their account stolen.

We have updated the game to fix bugs and freezing.  Here is a complete list of changes:

-Added a new receiving game data system since the old one sucked
-Fixed the random freezes
-Nerfed Crags monsters
-Fixed key bug where your key would disappear if you used it on the wrong door
-Removed personal guild stats because of cheating/everyone hated them
-Fixed a file in the installer that made several antivirus programs falsely detect a virus.  The download should always scan clean now.

Server Changes (everyone chill!)

Well it has been too long since I posted a news update so here is what is going on.

Velius and Golbez, two people who played the original game with me in the 90's, have been godded to help out.  They are going to help with the huge task of trying to improve the balance on the server.  We are already trying lots of new changes now.

One thing I wanted to mention is that some people have been freaking out about the changes.  I've even heard cases of people quitting (really?) because of changes in damage!  So I just want to say, everybody relax!  When we are making changes this big, it requires ALOT of tweaking and time to determine whether something is working or not.  If some of the changes we make turn out to suck, don't worry, we can change them back really easily.  What we are trying to do is find a working formula for the game, and it takes some time.  I really appreciate everybody who has been posting in the forums.  120 posts in Fank's discussion about game balance is tremendous feedback.  We are all reading it and we are making changes based on it, so thanks alot and keep them coming!
