- A new starter area has been implemented which goes much deeper in detail than the old one about the game. You can choose to leave the newbie island at level 11 or you can be forced out at level 30.
- Cleric's no longer need living essences to cast res on people. 3 raises per cleric just isn't going to cut it in the new content. You might wipe that much just getting to the first boss. The res spell now needs 100mana to cast.
The new area is coming along well, it is mostly finished. We are waiting for a few coding updates and balancing the new gear as best as we can. |

Volcano Island is the home of a new powerful raid boss, the Fire Lord Lavos. The treasure room is sure to draw the attention of some of the hungriest Odyssey players. But it's no simple task. Lavos has a spawn timer of about 26 hours and only allows a maximum of 5 players to enter. Experiment with different setups, but be sure to bring at least one cleric! The map leading up to the raid is designed to be PK oriented and to give a strategic advantage for defenders. Be sure to come prepared with ranged classes, as the terrain is especially suitable for projectiles. As we develop more features, be sure to expect even more compelling raids in the future. Good luck!

We've added a new monster system. These new monsters are very intelligent and are found generally speaking in Golbez's new quests. These monsters have an automatic target acquisition system. If they do not have a target, they will look within their site range to find one. If they wander into sight range of you, they will attack even if you have not moved. They will also always choose the closest target, so if you try to lure it away or make a player wall it will attack the closest player. Wiggling, luring, and sacrifice/res and other ridiculous laming tactics will not work on these monsters.
So how do you beat these monsters? Fight them. If you get low, run away and let someone else start taking the hit. We have made these changes to make Odyssey's monsters more than just silly obstacles. Monsters are now worthy opponents. Work together to defeat them! |

The game has been updated to change how the map switch timer behaves. Now, people who aren't hurt will switch faster than last update, with a map switch timer of 500ms. However, people that are hurt will switch MUCH slower. The way it works is a sliding scale between 500 ms and 5000 ms (5 seconds) depending on how hurt you are. This change was made because the map switch timer made it harder to chase people who were corner wiggling since they had the same timer as you. Now it will be easy to chase down those people and wtfpwn them. Have fun! |

Anyone caught macroing will now have all of their skills reset to level 0. Violate the rules at your own (very great) risk. |

With no stats in the game now we are going through the spells and adjusting them to the new system. Some spells may not be functioning correctly, this will be corrected soon. Mages should be functioning extremely well along with Rogues. Cleric's are probably messed up right now, we will get it corrected fairly soon.
These changes will allow us to balance things out a whole lot better and it will be much easier to add new spells/skills to the game in the future.
